Say Hi to George. He is a Vervet Monkey. This is not "the" monkey I got but it is his relative that we saw on our last trip.

Bushbok
This is the little one that didn't fall into the river and get eaten by the crocodile. That is whole story in and of itself.

Caution!

Hmm wondeFont sizer what that is refering to?

African Tortise
We didn't shoot everything that we saw.

This is a Klipspringer. The hair is very course almost like quills. I shot this one just 200 yards above camp. I shot my Vervet monkey from the flat grassy spot behind me in the photo.
I don't have any photos of the Vervet Monkey.

There ain't no bugs in Africa (HaHa)!

I tried to talk Karie into shooting this one but she wouldn't. This one is about 10 feet in length. Someday I will find a bigger one.

This is a Steenbok. They are a small secretive antelope. I did shoot this one on a night hunt. It was a different experience as I have never shot anything under spot lights before. I think will be a pedastal mount but I have not decided yet.

This is a Nyala. It is one of the 4 spiral horned antelope of South Africa, (along with the bushbok, eland, and kudu). This will be another full mount in the dead animal room.

Another picture with me and my guide (Gary). The picture makes it look pitch dark. I actually shot it at dusk and the flash makes it look totally dark. This bull was fighting with another bull.

This is my blue Wildabeast

Everything has thorns in Africa

Bushpig

This beautiful creature is a bush pig. We were sitting around the fire one night when Samuel
one of the black guys came running to tell us the pig had come in. These animals are nocturnal and are only out at night. Since none of the guys wanted to shoot it, I decided I would. These animals are not so easy to come by.

Check out the cool looking mane on this thing.

Karie and Samuel with Wally the bush pig

Definitely only a face a mother could love

Karie's giraffe

Our trip to Africa was great! I finally got my giraffe after waiting for about four years. It was the first animal shot. It took seven guys about three hours to skin and quarter it.
No, I'm not having it full mounted no matter what the kids say. It was about 18 feet tall.
What a fun adventure.
